Description

Lord Shiva is known to grant the greatest blessings when worshipped with devotion. The month of Shravan is especially dedicated to Lord Shiva, making it a highly auspicious and beneficial time to perform rituals and pujas. Worshipping Lord Shiva during this period is believed to bring good health, wealth, and happiness, while offering protection from negative influences and enemies.

One of the most sacred ways to worship Lord Shiva is through the Archana using Bilva leaves. This revered tree is deeply associated with Lord Shiva and holds immense spiritual significance. A cluster of three leaves, known as Bilva Dal, symbolizes the three eyes of Lord Shiva. It is also believed that the roots of the Bilva Tree are home to all pilgrimage sites, enhancing its sanctity and importance in worship.

The Lord Shiva Puja is conducted by four Vedic pundits and lasts approximately 4 hours.

The puja is followed by a Homa, where offerings such as honey, ghee, sugar, sesame seeds (til), barley (jau), Ashtagandh, sandalwood powder, and Navgrah Samidha are made to the sacred fire. This is concluded with Lord Shiva’s Aarti and the distribution of Prasad to Brahmins.

Prasadam: Upon completion of the puja, the Yajmaan will receive:

  • A Shiv Yantra
  • A Rudraksha Japmala
  • A recording (45–60 minutes) of the most significant parts of the puja
  • Prasad from the ceremony.
